The National

How can some simple band from a simple genre make music sound like a soundtrack? Capture every emotion that everyone feels? Being drunk and nervous, being in love, being heart broken, hating someone, hating yourself? They do it and make it sound amazing!!!!

Pride Week

This is my viewpoint of a gay rights activist marching in the pride parade in down town salt lake city.

Prideful “sinners” march the street
Believers swing their books to meet
Rolling through without infamy
Rolling through with dignity
They can’t stop us with their god
They can’t stop us, we’re lighting rod
Ready to break the surface to show
We belong here, there and in snow
Tops and bottoms of cities, towns
Left and right of states, we are bound
We wont stop until we meet their lord
If he stops us, we’ll show our mighty sword
We’ll stand taller than any building in sight
We’ll stand together and show our might
Displays will show hatred on the corners
But for now, we wont be mourners
We’ll fly a strong rainbow flag
We won’t hear the word “fag”
People will hear, people will know
That as people we wont hide below
There’s a reason we live, and love
Just like everyone here and above
Lennon said it best in a song
We must be one, we must belong.

Not Tired Of The Old School

I was riding my bike yesterday to my friend Austin's and has my i-pod on shuffle. I heard some old music that I haven't listen to in years. So today driving to Sandy I made an "old school" play list of my emo/punk/hardcore/screamo/metal days.
